Andrea Schaffnit, 19, was crowned the 2025 Miss Adams County during the Miss Adams County Fair Pageant Wednesday, July 23rd during the 83rd Adams County Fair. She is the daughter of Kevin and Nicole Schaffnit of Mendon.
Schaffnit attends Southern Illinois University Carbondale, majoring in Healthcare Management. Andrea plans to earn her masters in Hospital Administration and work towards becoming a hospital COO. She was sponsored by Shaffer Enterprises. Schaffnit is the 60th Adams County Fair Queen to be crowned since the pageant began in 1965. She takes home a $2,000 scholarship from the Adams County Fair Board and numerous prizes from local sponsors. She will reign over the Adams County Fair through Tuesday, July 29. Schaffnit was also awarded the Adams County Bicentennial Speech award, which comes with a $200 scholarship. First runner up was Chloe Shaffer. Shaffer is the 18-year-old daughter of Curtis and Shannon Shaffer of Mendon. She will attend Culver-Stockton College on a basketball scholarship, majoring in Business Administration and Marketing. In addition to being first runner-up, Shaffer was also awarded the Don Russell Memorial Award, given to the contestant with the best interview. |

Adams County Fair Queen Pageant Celebrates 60 Years of Royal Tradition
Fifteen contestants vying for the title of 2025 Miss Adams County Fair Queen have been working hard to gain experience in the areas of interview, speech, and stage presence. Join us on the evening of Wednesday, July 23, to find out who will be crowned the next Miss Adams County Fair Queen! This year marks a remarkable milestone for the Adams County Fair Queen Pageant — the 60th year of a cherished community tradition. To celebrate this historic occasion, we are thrilled to welcome back our past queens for a special reunion and on-stage recognition. These women represent decades of grace, leadership, and hometown pride, and we are honored to celebrate their legacy. As we reflect on almost six decades of queens who have worn the crown with purpose and poise, we look ahead with excitement to see who will become our 60th Miss Adams County Fair Queen. This year’s pageant promises to be a memorable evening filled with tradition, inspiration, and community spirit. The reigning Miss Adams County, Madalyn Gibbs, is the 18-year-old daughter of Jason and Amanda Gibbs of Liberty. This fall, she will begin her freshman year at Southwestern Illinois College on a full-ride volleyball scholarship. She plans to study Criminal Investigation. Meet the 2025 Contestants: Sierra Miller is the 19-year-old daughter of Toby and Amanda Miller of Quincy. She will be a junior at Western Illinois University, majoring in Music Education and Music Therapy. Her goal is to teach elementary general music. Sponsored by Advanced Dental Care. Olivia Stegeman is the 17-year-old daughter of Ken and Tammy Stegeman of Quincy. A senior at Quincy Senior High School, she plans to study Business Administration with a minor in Fashion Merchandising and hopes to own a bridal and formalwear boutique. Sponsored by Hebrews Coffee, Melissa B Interiors, and 48th Street Studio. Anna Dietrich is the 17-year-old daughter of Tim and Christina Dietrich of Liberty. A senior at Liberty High School, she plans to attend a four-year university with the ROTC program, major in Business Management, and become an Air Force officer. Sponsored by Reis Construction and Liberty Bank. Elaina Schreacke is a 20-year-old from Quincy. She is enrolled in the John Wood Community College Nursing Program and will graduate with her RN degree this December. Sponsored by Hy-Vee. Isabel Cramsey is the 19-year-old daughter of Jason and Misty Cramsey of Quincy. She will attend John Wood Community College this fall to major in Business and plans to pursue a career in finance or accounting. Sponsored by Hanlin Floor Covering. Cloe Owens is the 18-year-old daughter of Bill and Theresa Owens of Liberty. She will begin her freshman year at John Wood Community College, studying toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Madalyn Gibbs, 17, was crowned the 2024 Miss Adams County during the Miss Adams County Fair Pageant Wednesday, July 24 during the 82nd Adams County Fair. She is the daughter of Jason and Amanda Gibbs of Liberty. She will be a senior at Liberty High School this fall. Following graduation she plans to join the Air Force. She would like to pursue a career in Criminal Justice and eventually become an FBI agent. Meyer Premium Beef provided her sponsorship in the pageant.
Gibbs is the 59th Adams County Fair Queen to be crowned since the pageant began in 1965. She takes home a $2,000 scholarship from the Adams County Fair Board and numerous prizes from local sponsors. She will reign over the Adams County Fair through Tuesday, July 30. First runner up was Madison Hester. Madison is the 18-year-old daughter of Jarred and Sue Hester of Golden. She is a graduate of Central High School. In the fall she plans to attend Quincy University. Madison plans to major in criminal justice/pre-law with hopes to become a prosecuting attorney. Second runner up was Ashley Walbring, the 17-year-old daughter of Matt and Lori Walbring of Quincy. She will be a Senior this fall at Quincy Senior High School. After graduation Ashley plans to attend Culver-Stockton College and pursue a Bachelor of Health Science in Respiratory Therapy. Walbring was also awarded the Miss Congeniality Award, voted on by her fellow contestants. She takes home a $150 scholarship with that award. Madison Hester was also awarded the Don Russell Memorial Award, given to the contestant with the best interview. She takes home a $150 scholarship with that award. Other contestants included Maddi Cramsey, Sierra Miller, Genavieve Zengel, Olivia Williams and Charlotte Smith. All contestants took home scholarship money for their participation in the pageant. The retiring Miss Adams County, Morgan Widmer is the 20-year-old daughter of Mike and Trudy Willis of Quincy. This fall she will be a Junior at Quincy University majoring in Elementary Education. She is member of the “Hawkettes,” the QU Dance Team, as well as a student ambassador, Hawk Bound leader, and orientation leader for Quincy University.
