Young Adams County Fair goers and their parents will have a special opportunity to get a “Fair-y Makeover” while helping support the Adams County Fair Pageant Program.
The Adams County ‘Fair-y’ Queen Boutique will be held Monday, July 30, during the 2018 Adams County Fair inside the Prairieland FS tent at the Family Fun Zone. From 5p.m. to 7:30p.m. these budding fairies will create a whimsical headband OR decorate fairy wings, receive a magical mini manicure, enjoy a snack and meet ‘Tinkerbell.’ The event will culminate with a “Fair-y” Queen Parade through the Grandstand Arena during the popular Adams County Fair Tractor Pull at 7:45p.m. While children will enjoy time being pampered on the outside, the event will also impart a special message about what’s really important and beautiful about each one of them— what’s on the inside. “Every fairy has a special talent in her heart. Our little fairies will learn they all possess the “power” to be kind and empathetic to those around them. We want them to spread kindness like fairy dust!” said Pageant Chairman and Fair Board Director Melissa Shriver-Hackamack. Little 'Fairies' and their adult companions will be greeted on a first-come, first served basis the evening of Monday, July 30th. The cost is $10 per child. Additional wings or headbands will be available for purchase. T-shirts will also be available for $10. All proceeds go to the Adams County Fair Pageant program to help support college scholarships for pageant participants. |
