The Adams County Fair Board is proud to announce Country Music Hall of Fame inductees - The Oak Ridge Boys— will headline the 2018 Star Concert at the 77th annual week-long fair. The “Oaks” will take the stage reveling the crowd with hits like “Elvira,” and “Bobby Sue,” coming up on Saturday, July 28.
The Oak Ridge Boys are a longtime fixture in country music. While the group is well-known for hits like “Thank God for Kids” and “Fancy Free,” its impact on country music won’t soon be forgotten. The group has scored 12 gold, three platinum, and one double platinum album—plus one double platinum single—and had more than a dozen national Number One singles and over 30 Top Ten hits.
The “Oaks” as they are called, continue making music and headlines throughout their long career. The group recently took the stage with Miranda Lambert in March and are currently on tour. Their long career is enshrined in the hallowed halls of the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee.
This family-friendly concert will feature four-part harmonies and upbeat songs of The Oak Ridge Boys which have earned them Grammy, Dove, CMA, and ACM awards and garnered a host of other industry and fan accolades. Band members include lead singer Duane Allen, bass singer Richard Sterban, tenor Joe Bonsall and baritone William Lee Golden. Every time they step before an audience, “the Oaks” bring four decades of charted singles to a stage show widely acknowledged as among the most exciting anywhere. Band members are excited to take the stage.
“I plan to be rockin’ my tail off out there,” said Bonsall. “The people who come out, who bring their families to see us, deserve everything I’ve got.”
Entry into grandstand seating for the concert is free with $10 adult admission to the fair that evening. Track seating tickets are an additional $10 and can be purchased at Farm and Home Supply in Quincy. Purchases must be made with cash or check. No credit cards can be accepted to purchase track seats.
