About the Fair

  1. The Fair will open on Thursday, July 24, 2008 and close on Wednesday,
July 30, 2008 unless continued longer because of rain.
2. All time references in this book are Daylight Savings Time.
3. NO 4-WHEELERS or GOLF CARTS ALLOWED, except for Official Use.
4. Entries in EDUCATIONAL-NATURAL HISTORY DEPARTMENT MUST BE
MADE by July 18, 2008. Entries in all other departments, except
Livestock, may be made up until 8:00 A.M., Thursday, July 24, 2008.
5. All Livestock entries, including 4-H Entries MUST BE MADE by 5:00
P.M. on Monday, July 21, 2008. All livestock entries must be accompanied by
check or money order for stall or pen fees, exhibitor tickets, etc.
With every $10.00 worth of stall or pen fees (or, portion thereof, after the
first $10.00 has been paid) one helper’s ticket may be purchased for
$10.00.
6. Exhibits must be in place by 8:00 A.M., Thursday, July 24. Check department
for livestock entry and release times.
7. SUPERINTENDENTS WILL ASSIGN STALLS.
8. IN LIVESTOCK DEPARTMENTS, NO EXHIBITOR WILL BE ALLOWED TO WIN
MORE THAN TWO PREMIUMS IN ANY ONE CLASS.
NO EXHIBITOR WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER MORE THAN THREE ENTRIES
IN ANY ONE CLASS.
9. No animal to occupy a stall or pen on the grounds of Fair Association unless
competing for premiums or if there as a nurse animal for others which are competing,
and then the regular stall or pen fees must be paid for such animals.
ALL EXHIBITORS OF LIVESTOCK WILL BE CHARGED FOR PENS OR STALLS
USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, AT THE STATED FEE.
10. If any exhibitor refuses to parade his livestock on request of the superintendent
in that department, he shall forfeit all rights to any premiums he may have
won or does win during the fair.
11. The Fair Association reserves the right to pay all premiums pro rata if the
proceeds of the Association are not sufficient to pay all the premiums in full.
12. The interpretation of all rules governing exhibits shall rest entirely with the
Fair Association and decisions will be final.
13. Decisions of the judges and superintendents of each department will be
final. Exhibitors may be barred from competition for finding fault with their
decisions.
14. Every article entered for competition shall be under the control of the superintendent
of that particular department; however, the Fair Association will in
no case be responsible in case of loss or damage, shall any occur.
15. Registration papers will be checked and animals identified by the
Superintendents.
16. All protests must be filed with the Superintendent of the Department on the
day of judging, and must be accompanied by a deposit of $25.00. If the
protest is sustained, the deposit will be returned, and if not sustained, it will
be forfeited to the Adams County Fair Association.
17. All Adams County FFA and 4-H Club Exhibitors may enter any open livestock
class by paying an exhibitor privilege fee of $3.00. All entry fees will be
charged as they apply.
4-H & FFA entries must meet the same deadlines as other exhibitors.
NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
18. Health rules for livestock will follow. A veterinarian, will be official inspector
of all health certificates.
19. Animals not entered in competition will not be allowed on grounds unless
used for seeing dog. Livestock animals will be allowed, but must stay in the
livestock area. Any animal found in another area on fairgrounds will be
removed from grounds and prize money will be forfeited. NO EXCEPTIONS.

20. Livestock Classes must maintain a minimum of 20 head for 3 years to remain
a separate breed with premiums.
21. All exhibitors are required to purchase an exhibitors pass, except Education
Dept. N.
22. Social Security numbers will be required of winners who win $600 or more.
23. The Fair Board has the right to deny certain privileges such as displays or Box
Seats due to negative publicity or non-payment of obligations.
24. Livestock trailers must be in designated areas and cannot be in camper spot,
unless it has a camper installed in the trailer and have purchased a camping spot in the office.
25. Livestock fans must be 4' off the ground.
NO Butt Fans.
Misters must be OK'ed by the Dept. Superintendent.
26. Anyone caught trying to defraud the fair of gate admission will be charged double
and be open to further prosecution.
27. The Adams County Fair Association has the right to remove any vehicle or
item which may cause an accident or is not in compliance.
28. Absolutely no water fights will be tolerated or any other unsafe activities
that may result in an accident.
29. PREMISE ID REQUIRED FOR ALL IN STATE
AND OUT OF STATE LIVESTOCK.
SUPERINTENDENTS
Each Superintendent shall be on the grounds Thursday morning, July 24, 2008 to
receive and place exhibits. He shall have the placing and arrangement of all
entries in his department. He will afford the Judges every facility for examination
and will see that the books are properly kept and signed by the judge. He
shall return the books to the Secretary as soon as the judging is completed. He
shall notify the exhibitors when animals will be shown.
EACH SUPERINTENDENT WILL BE IN FULL CHARGE OF HIS DEPARTMENT.

OBJECTIONABLE FEATURES
No advertising to be erected on the grounds during the Fair other than that
in connection with an exhibit.
All advertisement must be in a paid spot, including vehicle signs.
No person shall be permitted to sell, barter, exchange, or give away intoxicating
liquor unless approved by the Fair Board.
Nor will gambling be allowed within the Association’s grounds, and it will be
the duty of each officer to enforce these rules.
It will be useless to write for or apply for privileges for gambling devices
including spindle wheels, paddle wheels, pan joints, questionable shows or for sale
of intoxicating liquor, hop, ale, near beer or similar substitutes, confetti, whips or
other objectionable features, as the same will not be allowed to be exhibited or
sold upon the fairgrounds.
CONCESSIONS
All frontage for concessions selling food is $25.00 per front foot ($250 minimum
charge). Other concessions will be $15.00 per front foot. Corner spaces
pay for double facing with a minimum space of 30 square feet. Prices at all
concessions must be posted. Garbage fee will be charged with a $60.00
minimum, water fee with a $25.00 minimum and electrical hookup is $35.00
minimum.
No person will be allowed to occupy a space or stand without having signed a
privilege contract provided by the Superintendent of Concessions.
The Superintendent of Concessions will place concessions on the fairgrounds on
Tuesday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 23, 2008 on the allotted space.
Each person contracting for a certain amount of space must sign an application
stating the nature of the business the permit is issued for and confine himself
to the space assigned or forfeit his privilege without reimbursement. No subleasing
of space allowed.
The management will reserve the right to cancel any privilege contract for failure
to comply with the rules governing the same.

CLAIMS FOR INJURY
No claim for injury to any person or property shall ever be asserted nor suit
instituted or maintained against the Adams County Fair Association, its officers or
their agents, representatives, servants or employees having a license or privilege
to exhibit on the fairground or occupy space thereon.
If any damage, loss or injury to person or property shall be caused by reason
of any neglect or willful act of any person, firm or corporation by their agents,
representatives, servants or employees having license or privilege to exhibit on
said fairgrounds, or occupy space thereon, the Adams County Fair Association shall
in no manner be responsible therefore, and in case it is subjected to any expense
or liability, all persons causing same or liable therefore shall indemnify the said
Adams County Fair Association at Mendon, Illinois.
Injury must be reported immediately to the Adams County Fair Grounds Office.
Nor will any officer or employee of the fair be permitted to negotiate assurance
or make any guarantee whatsoever regarding the same. Property owners
desiring insurance against fire, theft, or any protection must make their own
arrangements therefore. No officer or employee has any authority to suspend
or change this rule.

POWER AND LIGHT CHARGES
Electric current for light, heat and power may be arranged for in tents for outside
exhibits on the grounds and will be charged for at rates posted in Concession
Superintendents office.
Camping vehicles will be charged a fee per week. Permits issued at Secretary’s
office and must be on display in window of unit. A fee of $35 will be charged for any
oversized appliances outside.
Grounds will be checked for violators. EXHIBITORS ONLY.

2008 EXHIBITION LIVESTOCK HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
COUNTY FAIRS

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Exhibitors are requested to familiarize themselves with all rules applicable
to exhibits.
2. All out-of-state animals shall require an entry permit. Permits are available
24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (217) 782-4944.
3. All animals, except as noted, shall be accompanied by a Certificate of
Veterinary Inspection (CVI) which shows that the animal meets all health
requirements for the State of Illinois. Certificates of Veterinary Inspection
shall be made available to Bureau of Animal Health Personnel on request.
Certificate of Veterinary Inspections means a legible record made on an
official form of the state of origin which has been issued, signed and dated
by an accredited veterinarian and which shows the name and address of the
animal's owner or exhibitor and the results of all required tests or vaccinations.
A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection shall list only one animal identification
per line; shall be presented in the form in which it was initially
issued; and shall not be corrected, changed or altered in any manner.
4. All animals shall be officially identified. The animal(s) official identification shall
be recorded on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection.
5. If animals are from tuberculosis accredited, brucellosis certified, pseudorabies
qualified, or brucellosis validated herds, the identifying herd number(s)
along with the date of the last herd test(s) shall appear on the Certificate of
Veterinary Inspection.
6. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for out-of-state livestock shall be void thirty
(30) days after issuance.
7. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for Illinois-origin livestock shall be void
ninety (90) days after issuance.
8. All livestock shall be subject to examination upon entry to any Illinois Fair or
exhibition. Any animal showing evidence of infectious, contagious or communicable
diseases shall be immediately withdrawn and held in quarantine
at the owner's risk and expense until properly treated and recovered, or
until the animal is released to return to the owner's premise.
Any livestock infected with scabies, mange, active lesions of ringworm, soremouth,
or multiple warts which are easily visible without close examination shall
not be permitted to exhibit and are subject to quarantine or removal from the
fairgrounds.
Sheep and goats with caseous Lymphadenitis as evidenced by draining
abscesses shall not be exhibited and are subject to immediate quarantine or
removal from the fairgrounds.
9. Illinois Department of Agriculture personnel or designee may collect blood,
tissue, milk or urine samples from any animal being exhibited and/or
raced at any Illinois Fair to test for the presence of illegal drugs or banned
substances. New examination techniques, such as ultrasound, may also
be used at anytime while the animals are on the grounds of any Illinois
Fair or exhibit.
The Illinois Department of Agriculture may collect urine, blood, tissue
or other test samples from exhibition animals at the time of slaughter.
10. All exhibitors of animals at any Illinois Fair or exhibition shall comply with the
provisions of the Illinois Humane Care for Animals Act. If violations are
observed, the animal(s) will be excused from exhibition and ordered removed
from the grounds with all awards being forfeited.
Any practice or deviation from normal, accepted care, including physical,
medical or mechanical application shall constitute a violation of show rules and
may result in the animal(s) disqualification and removal from the fairgrounds.


11. Any Illinois cattle, bison, cervidae or goats being exhibited in non-accredited
free states must be isolated from the remainder of the herd/flock
upon return to Illinois and retested for tuberculosis 60-120 days postentry.
CATTLE
Identification
Individual identification of each animal shall be either a fully healed and
legible tattoo, official metal ear tag, registration number (can only be used
if the tattoo is recorded on the registration certificate or for breeds where
pictures are acceptable), or individual brands, if brand is recorded on the
registration certificate.
Illinois Cattle
Brucellosis
1. Illinois is a Bovine Brucellosis Class-Free State. Brucellosis testing is not
required for Illinois cattle.
Tuberculosis
1. Illinois is an Accredited Tuberculosis-Free State. Tuberculin test is not
required for Illinois cattle.
Please Note: Illinois steers and calves under 6 months of age are not
required to have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection.
Out-of-State-Cattle
Permit
1. All out-of-state cattle are to be accompanied by an entry permit.
2. Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling
(217) 782-4944.
Brucellosis
1. Female cattle six (6) months of age and older and bulls eighteen
(18) months of age and older shall be negative to an official test
for brucellosis within thirty (30) days prior to entry, unless exempt
by one (1) of the following:
A. Originate directly from a certified brucellosis-free herd.
B. Official vaccinates of dairy breeds under twenty (20) months
of age or official vaccinates of beef breeds under twenty four
(24) months of age.
C. Animal originated from a "Class Free" state (if entire state is so
classified)
D. Steers and spayed heifers are not required to be tested for
brucellosis.
2. The negative brucellosis test shall be conducted at a state or federal
laboratory within 30 days prior to exhibition.
Tuberculosis
1. Accredited Tuberculosis Free States
A. No tuberculin test required. All cattle, including steers, originating
from an Accredited Tuberculosis Free State, may enter Illinois for
exhibition when accompanied by a CVI issued by an accredited
veterinarian within 30 days.
2. Non-Accredited Tuberculosis Free States (Not TB Free)
A. Cattle must originate from a herd where a complete herd test
was conducted within the past year.
B. The individual animals entering Illinois must be negative to
additional tuberculin test conducted within 30 days prior to
exhibition.
C. Cattle that enter Illinois for exhibition and remain in Illinois (animal
does not return to the state of origin within 30 days) must
be isolated and retested for TB 60-120 days from the last
official TB test date.



SWINE
Illinois Swine
Identification
1. Swine shall be identified by an official ear tag, tattoo or recognized
breed ear notch.
2. Ear notch identification is acceptable for barrows, crossbred gilts
and breeding swine.
Brucellosis
1. Brucellosis is not required for Illinois swine.
Pseudorabies
All exhibition swine are required to be tested for pseudorabies as
described below. (Illinois Swine Disease Control and Eradication
Act, Section 105.110)
1. Swine of all ages shall be negative to an official test for pseudorabies
conducted within 90 days prior to exhibition; or swine shall originate
immediately and directly from a qualified pseudorabies negative
herd.
2. Barrows and females in market classes must meet the same requirements
as breeding swine.
Additional Requirements
1. Swine consigned to terminal market classes must meet the same test
requirements as exhibition swine if these classes are held in conjunction
with "exhibits not intended for slaughter".
2. When terminal classes are held on a day when no other livestock
are present, these animals are exempt from all test requirements
and do not need a CVI. All swine terminal classes must be identified
by a site tattoo prior to movement to slaughter.
3. Swine from pseudorabies-quarantined herds are not allowed
to exhibit regardless of whether or not the show is terminal or non
terminal.
4. The Illinois and DuQuoin State Fairs are not classified as terminal
shows.
Out-of-State Swine
Permit
1. All out-of-state swine are to be accompanied by an entry permit.
2. Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling
(217) 782-4944.
Identification
1. Individually identified by an official ear tag, tattoo or recognized
breed ear notch.
2. Ear notch identification is not acceptable for crossbred animals.
Brucellosis
1. Breeding swine 4 months of age and older shall be negative to an official
test for brucellosis within 30 days prior to exhibition unless exempt
by one (1) of the following:
A. Originate immediately and directly from a brucellosis-free
herd.
b. Originate directly from a validated brucellosis-free state.
2. Swine brucellosis test for exhibition shall be conducted at a state or
federal laboratory.
Pseudorabies
All exhibition swine are required to be tested for pseudorabies as
described below. (Illinois Swine Disease Control and Eradication Act,
Section 105.105)
1. Swine originating from a Stage III, IV or V state shall be negative to
an official test for pseudorabies conducted within the past thirty (30)
days prior to entry or originate immediately and directly from a
qualified pseudorabies negative herd in a Stage III, IV or V state.
2. Barrows and females in market classes must meet the same requirements
as breeding swine.
3. The Illinois and DuQuoin State Fairs are not classified as terminal
shows.
SHEEP
Identification
Individual identification of each animal shall be by an ear tattoo or official
metal or plastic tag. A micro chip ID is acceptable if the owner provides the
reader.
Ear tattoos may be used when a registration certificate, listing the tattoo
number, accompanies the animal.
When using ear tags, the tag must indicate the premises ID and state of
origin. The tag number must be assigned by a state or APHIS representative
and recorded in the Scrapie Record Datebase.
Tags are available from USDA, at no charge, by calling 1-866-USDA-TAG.
A list of approved tag companies is maintained on the APHIS Scrapie Web
page: www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/scrapie.
Market Lambs
All wethers must be slick shorn (show ring ready) before weigh-in so that
show lamb fungus can be identified.
Illinois Sheep
1. Sheep originating from a flock that has previously been classified
as either an infected or source flock can be exhibited in Illinois upon
the completion of an approved flock plan.
2. For any animal born after 1/1/2003, the CVI must include the flock
of birth and the flock of origin, if different.
Out-of-State Sheep
1. All out-of-state sheep are to be accompanied by an entry permit.
Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling
(217) 782-4944.
2. Sheep originating from a flock that has previously been classified
as either an infected or source flock can be exhibited in Illinois upon
the completion of an approved flock plan.
3. For any animal born after 1/1/2003, the CVI must include the flock
of birth and the flock of origin, if different.
GOATS
Identification
Individual identification of each animal shall be by an ear tattoo or official
metal or plastic tag. A microchip ID is acceptable if the owner provides the
reader.
Ear tattoos may be used when a registration certificate, listing the tattoo
number, accompanies the animal.
When using ear tags, the tag must indicate the premises ID and state of

Ears should be used for tattooing when possible. If there is no space in the ear,
the flank or tail fold my be used.

Illinois Goats
1. CVI must include the following statement: "The goats listed above were
not exhibiting clinical signs of scrapie at the time of examination".
2. Goats originating from a herd that has previously been classified
as either an infected or source herd can be exhibited in Illinois upon
the completion of an approved herd plan.
3. For any animal born after 1/1/2003, the CVI must include the flock
of birth and the flock of origin, if different.
4. Under federal regulations, the owner must also state on the CVI that
the animals are not scrapie positive, suspect, high-risk, or exposed and
are not from an infected source or exposed flock.
Out-of-State Goats
1. CVI must include the following statement: "The goats listed above were
not exhibiting clinical signs of scrapie at the time of examination".
2. Goats from a flock with a laboratory diagnosis of scrapie are not
permitted to exhibit.
3. Tuberculosis - Goats from states that are not Accredited Bovine
Tuberculosis Free, must be accompanied by a CVI indicating that the
goats originated from a herd where a complete negative herd test has
been conducted within the past twelve (12) months and the individual
animals are negative to a tuberculine test conducted within thirty
(30) days prior to entry. A permit is also required for goats that enter
Illinois from a non-TB free state or area.
4. For any animal born after 1/1/2003, the CVI must include the flock
of birth and the flock of origin, if different.
5. Under federal regulations, the owner must also state on the CVI that
the animals are not scrapie positive, suspect, high-risk, or exposed and
are not from an infected source or exposed flock.
HORSES, PONIES, MULES, AND OTHER EQUIDAE
Illinois Equine
1. All horses and other equidae, twelve (12) months of age and older
attending an advertised equine event, shall be accompanied by a
Negative Test for equine infectious anemia (EIA) conducted within
the last twelve (12) months. A copy of this test shall accompany
the animal.
2. AGID (Coggins) or ELISA tests are accepted.
3. An advertised equine event means a show, rodeo, sale, auction, exhibition,
trail ride, or horse fair that is posted or media promoted.
4. A CVI is not required for Illinois equine.
Out-of-State Equine
1. All out-of-state equine are to be accompanied by an entry permit.
Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling
(217) 782-4944.
2. All horses and other equidae, entering Illinois that are twelve (12)
months of age and older, shall be accompanied by a Negative
Test for equine infectious anemia (EIA) conducted within the last
twelve (12) months. A copy of this test shall accompany the
animal.
3. AGID (Coggins) or ELISA tests are accepted.
4. All horses and other equidae shall be accompanied by a CVI issued
within thirty (30) days prior to entry.
POULTRY
1. All entries (except waterfowl, i.e., domesticated fowl that normally swim,
such as ducks and geese) in a show or exhibition shall have originated from
a U.S. Pullorum-Typhoid Clean or equivalent hatchery or flock OR have a negative
pullorum-typhoid test within 90 days prior to exhibition. Exhibitor shall
show proper information as to name and address of the owner or exhibitor,
name and address of the authorized testing agent, date of the testing and
the number, breed and species of those tested.
2. Prior to being used to transport poultry to a show, all crates, boxes, containers
and vehicles should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
3. Any poultry vaccinations must be performed at least 4 weeks prior to
delivery to show.

4. Upon admission to a show, all entries shall be examined by the official
county fair veterinarian or qualified state personnel who shall also receive
and examine all certificates necessary for admission of birds to a show.
Birds not in show condition will be excused from exhibition and removed
from the premises. Any fowl showing signs of illness during the fair will be
removed from the exhibition grounds.
5. All out-of-state turkeys must originate from flocks that are officially classified
as U.S. Mycoplasma Gallisepticum Clean in accordance with the provisions
of the National Poultry Improvement Plan or be negative to a test for
Mycoplasma Gallisepticum within 30 days prior to entry.
Please note: These poultry exhibition requirements do not apply to 4-H
and FFA 1-day poultry shows where the entries are taken to the show and
returned home the same day.
6. A permit is also required for out of state poultry.
CERVIDAE
(Deer, Elk, Reindeer, Caribou, Moose, Red Deer and other Related Species)
Identifications
All animals shall be individually identified with an approved tag, microchip
or tattoo. Elk are required to have two official/approved unique identifiers
effective January 1, 2004.
Illinois Cervidae
Chronic Wasting Disease
For cervidae changing ownership or moving within the State, the owner
must obtain a permit issued by the Department prior to movement and the
cervidae must originate from a herd that is enrolled in the Certified Monitored
Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Program or the Contained Monitored
Chronic Wasting Disease Program. The permit shall be obtained no more than
72 hours in advance of the movement of the cervids by providing the following
information:
A) Name and complete mailing address of person exhibiting the cervids;
B) Certified Monitored Chronic Wasting Disease or Contained Monitored
Chronic Wasting Disease herd number;
C) Name and complete mailing address of location where animal will be
exhibited;
D) Number of animals and unique identification of the animals.

Tuberculosis
Any Illinois cattle, bison, cervidae or goats being exhibited in non-accredited
free states must be isolated from the remainder of the herd/flock upon
return to Illinois and retested for tuberculosis 60-120 days post-entry.
Out-of-State Cervidae
Chronic Wasting Disease
1. All cervidae entering Illinois must be in compliance with the Illinois
Wildlife Code [520 ILCS 5]. For more information, contact the Illinois
Department of Natural Resources at 217/782-6384.
2. All cervidae entering Illinois must be accompanied by a permit from
the Department and a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection that
a. has been issued by an accredited veterinarian of the state of
origin or a veterinarian in the employ of the United States
Department of Agriculture;
b. is approved by the Animal Health Official of the state of origin;
c. shows that the cervidae are free from visible evidence of any
contagious, infectious or communicable disease or exposure thereto,
do not originate from a CWD endemic area (any county and
surrounding counties where CWD has been diagnosed in the past
five years);
d. shows that the cervidae are not originated from a herd under
quarantine for any contagious, infectious or communicable disease;
e. shows that the animals originate from a herd that has been monitored
for at least 5 years under a state-approved CWD certi-fication program
3. A permit number can be obtained by calling (217) 782-4944.
Applicant for permit shall furnish the following information to the
Department:
a. Name and post office mailing address of Illinois destination;
b. Name and post office mailing address of the consignor and/or
source herds;
c. Name and post office mailing address of the herd veterinarian;
d. Number and unique identification of cervidae in shipment.


Brucellosis
1. Elk six (6) months of age and older must have a negative brucellosis
card or PCFIA test within sixty (60) days prior to entry.
Tuberculosis
1. Accredited Tuberculosis Free States
All cervidae twelve (12) months of age and over shall be negative
to two (2) single cervical test for biovine TB no less than ninety
(90) days apart with the second test conducted within (90) days prior
to entry. These animals shall be isolated from all other members of
the herd during the testing period unless they originate from an
accredited, qualified or monitored herd.
A) Cervidae from an accredited herd may be moved into
Illinois without further TB testing provided that a certificate
stating that such cervids originated from an
accredited herd accompanies them.
B) Cervidae originating from qualified or monitored herds
may enter with a negative test within ninety (90) days
prior to entry and a certificate stating that the animals
originate from a monitored herd.
2. Non-Accredited Tuberculosis Free Areas or States (Not TB Free)
A. All cervidae shall originate from a herd where a complete
herd test was conducted within the past year.
B. The individual animals entering Illinois must be negative to two
(2) additional tuberculin tests conducted within 180 and 30
days prior to entry or exhibition.
RATITES
(Ostriches, Emus, Rheas, Cassowaries and Kiwis)
Illinois Ratites
1. There are no requirements governing movement of ratites within Illinois.
Out-of-State Ratites
1. Must be accompanied by a CVI and permit number.
2. Individually identified by leg band or microchip.
3. Negative test for Avian Influenza within 10 days prior to entry.

PIGEONS
1. There are no requirements governing the movements of pigeons within
or into Illinois.
RABBITS
1. There are no requirements governing the movements of rabbits within
or into Illinois.
LLAMAS
1. There are no requirements governing the movements of llamas within
or into Illinois.




JUDGES
No premiums will be awarded on animals or articles which the judges declare
unworthy to receive a premium.
Any person attempting to interfere with the judge, or who shall tear off a
ribbon in the presence of the judge, shall forfeit all prizes won and be excluded
from all showing.
Should any doubt arise in the mind of the judge as to an article or animal being entered
in the wrong class, the same shall be referred to the superintendent, and if he is unable
to decide, or does not care to decide, he shall refer it to the Committee of Appeals.
